Maren Doughty is a Boston-based folk singer-songwriter originally from Northern Michigan, where she grew up on the shores of Lake Superior. Her music feels intimate and vulnerable, reflecting the dynamic natural landscape she was raised on. Maren started singing, songwriting, and playing guitar at a young age, and her early days performing in a folk band within her small-town community left a lasting influence on her sound.
Now in Boston, Maren’s music is evolving in new ways. She performs in various musical settings, including solo, a harmonious vocal trio called Stereo Three, and has expanded her shows to include a full band performing around Boston. She’s currently working on her debut EP, a collection of songs that reflect her journey over the last few years.
As a co-founder, Maren and some of her close friends created One Roof Sessions, a house show venue and video series project for local artists around the Boston area, hosting artists in their living rooms. When she’s not making music, Maren loves exploring visual and textile arts, experimenting with new recipes, running, and spending time outdoors. Maren is in her third year at Berklee College of Music, where she is studying Professional Music with concentrations in American Roots Music and Music and Health.
Maren is available for private lessons, session playing, songwriting/musical collaboration... contact marendoughty@gmail.com for inquiries!
